Bids 4 Kids

Bids 4 Kids delivers weekly after school group sessions for young people aged 8-14, in areas that do not currently have access to high quality workshop or ensemble opportunities. Bids 4 Kids is commissioned by Make Some Noise; managed and delivered by Staffordshire Performing Arts Service


Features:

  • The programme is currently running in the Biddulph and Kidsgrove areas of Staffordshire. 
  • Weekly sessions include two strands; an on going instrumental skill development programme which will continue throughout the duration of the project and a series of workshops. Each strand is one half-term in length 
  • The programme focuses on particular musical themes such as improvisation, composition, vocal work and music technology. 
  • Various musical genres and styles are also explored, such as jazz, rock and pop and music from Africa, India and China.

Benefits:

  • Develops skill and knowledge across a range of different musical styles. 
  • Provides musical activity in areas that have little or no access to other musical provision. 
  • Helps to develop musical abilities as well as communication and team working skills.
