Bordermoves2
is a two year urban music and dance project that seeks to deliver a
programme of high quality arts activities associated with hip hop
culture, targeting young people in rural and urban settings.
Bordermoves2
is a follow on initiative relating to an earlier scheme (Bordermoves)
that allowed participants in the Staffordshire region to access high
quality arts practices related to breakdance and capoiera. This new
project will be delivered over a two year period and seeks to
consolidate the work already achieved throughout the county, and to
extend activity to include music skills, and training/mentoring
opportunities for young people, both as participants and facilitators.
A true partnership project, BM2 initiative is a collaboration of 5 local authorities, Staffordshire County Council and
Make Some Noise.
Activity took place in the following districts :
South Staffs
East Staffs
Tamworth
Staffordshire Moorlands
Cannock Chase
Bordermoves
took place during 2001, and was a dance project designed to give the
above target groups access and education in Break dancing, and Hip Hop
culture.
There are trainees attached to this music
project, who willhelp deliver the workshop sessions, therefore
ensuring local sustainability of the projects as well as increasing the
skills base of the local area.
