Border Moves 2

Bordermoves2 is a two year urban music and dance project that seeks to deliver a programme of high quality arts activities associated with hip hop culture, targeting young people in rural and urban settings.

Bordermoves2 is a follow on initiative relating to an earlier scheme (Bordermoves) that allowed participants in the Staffordshire region to access high quality arts practices related to breakdance and capoiera. This new project will be delivered over a two year period and seeks to consolidate the work already achieved throughout the county, and to extend activity to include music skills, and training/mentoring opportunities for young people, both as participants and facilitators.

A true partnership project, BM2 initiative is a collaboration of 5 local authorities, Staffordshire County Council and Make Some Noise.

Activity took place in the following districts :
South Staffs
East Staffs
Tamworth
Staffordshire Moorlands
Cannock Chase

Bordermoves took place during 2001, and was a dance project designed to give the above target groups access and education in Break dancing, and Hip Hop culture.

There are trainees attached to this music project, who willhelp deliver the workshop sessions, therefore ensuring local sustainability of the projects as well as increasing the skills base of the local area.
