Music programme for young offenders returns

Sonic [db] has recently been commissioned to run for another week long residency in November in HMPYOI Swinfen Hall near
Lichfield. Experienced musicians and film makers worked with young men at Swinfen Hall to help them develop musical, technical, team and social skills.
Sonic [db] aims to be rehabilitative, creative and practically demonstrate training and career opportunities in music, technology and media arts. Liz Muge, CEO for Make Some Noise said, “We are delighted to have Sonic [db] delivering in Swinfen Hall again. It is a great opportunity and we are very pleased to be working in partnership with Staffordshire Arts and Museum Services.”
Sonic [db] has been hugely successful since its creation. Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood is the patron of the programme, stating that he is “very proud to be associated with such an important project. Music is such a powerful force in people's lives that it can bring out the positive and provide opportunities for young disadvantaged people.” More information about the Sonic [db] programme can be found on the Make Some Noise website by clicking here and the Sonic [db] website here.
