Rockz is an after school band building club in secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent. Rockz works with young people who are not currently engaged in musical activity out of the school environment. Rockz is commissioned by Make Some Noise and managed and delivered by City Music and Performing Arts Service.

Features:

·          Workshops are held weekly, delivered from April 2009 - March 2010.

·          Includes development of composition work using ICT.

·          Participants can record material which can then be used for portfolio submission and coursework.

Benefits:

·          The development of this genre of music will encourage young people to develop their musical skills, communication, team working and social skills.

·          Young people will explore different software packages, improvisation, composing and recording music using a variety of different techniques.
