Young Leaders programme begins

Make Some Noise offers progression routes and opens doors for young musicians. Their Young Leaders* programme is a prime example of this.

The current Young Leaders group is targeted at young people aged from 15 – 18 years old who have taken part in two of our projects, Sound Check and Youth Operatunity and are now keen to develop their own leadership skills, by delivering music workshops to other young people within their local community. This group is based at Cheadle Youth Centre and builds on the successes of our first Young Leaders programme, held at Cannock Youth Centre, where two young people were trained to deliver DJ workshops.

Not only do the Young Leaders develop life skills but the scheme also leads to an Arts Award Level 2 Silver accreditation, which is a nationally recognised qualification.

More information on this year’s Young Leaders programme can be found on the Make Some Noise website at the following link:

*The Young Leaders programme is also funded through the Cheadle Community & Learning Partnership & Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
