Young Staffordshire Songbirds prepare for the Symphony Hall



Over the past few weeks, 150 young singers involved in the Staffordshire Songbirds project have been hard at work rehearsing for a massive celebration of song at the Birmingham Symphony Hall.

This Make Some Noise project was been developed in partnership with Staffordshire Performing Arts has been providing young children between the ages of 8 and 11 with breakfast and lunchtime singing club.

Lesley Moran, a Staffordshire Songbirds' Leader, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for the Staffordshire Songbirds - singing in front of their families and friends in such a prestigious venue as the Birmingham Symphony Hall.”

Staffordshire Sings is an entertaining concert for children and young people featuring many different musical styles. The Staffordshire Festival Orchestra and Staffordshire Songbirds will be joined by school choirs from all over Staffordshire.
Nigel Taylor (Head of Cultural Development Division), Lesley Moran and David Lawrence are the conductors for the evening.

Liz Muge, Director for Make Some Noise adds that, “This promises to be a truly wonderful event and I am really pleased that the Staffordshire Songbirds are performing at this event - it's a brilliant showcase of talent.”
