"Excellent course providing practitioners with confidence"
Youth Operatunity
Youth Operatunity is a partnership between Make Some Noise, the New Vic Theatre, The Victoria Hall & The Regent Theatre, the Lichfield Garrick, and Glyndebourne Education.
Through this project young people across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent have the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop skills in all the key areas associated with opera.
The programme will also provide opportunities to work with visiting artists from Glyndebourne Opera - one of the best opera companies in the world - visit productions and other groups and to perform in some of the finest venues across the county and city.
T he Youth Operatunity groups, hosted by the three venues and delivered by our Artistic Director and Associate Artists, will also provide a creative method of increasing confidence, self-esteem and raising aspirations.
This project works with partners to specifically target those young people not ordinarily receiving opportunities such as this; young people who will enjoy and benefit from high quality, focussed and progressive creative activities.
"What's really exciting about this project is that it will provide up to 75 young people with the opportunity to explore the different elements which go into creating an original piece of music theatre; composing, performing, singing, direction, writing, choreography and design. Through this creative work, I hope participants will discover how opera can be relevant to their own lives."
