We are currently recruiting nursery settings who wish to take part in this exciting project. We are particularly interested in settings who wish to develop the skills, expertise and confidence of the staff in their baby rooms, so that they may become music advocates and leaders within their settings and sectors. Part of the course will include opportunities to share their work with others.
Music making is known to support children’s speech, language and communication development and the children involved in Soundpots phase 1 made considerable gains in this area. This programme seeks to work with even younger children during the optimum window for language acquisition 0 – 2 years.
Settings will have a unique opportunity to host an Early Years music specialist who will work directly with staff in baby rooms to:
- Support children’s speech, language and communication development
- Build on children’s innate musicality
- Introduce new repertoire
- Share latest research
- Audit the musical environment
- Build staff confidence
