Music for Dance for Music - 29/10/08
A weekend course offered by Arts East Staffs for dancers and musicians For musicians and vocalists, the course will explore the world of musical composition, accompaniment and improvisation specifically for dance.
Being able to work within dance can open up a whole new area of employment for musicians, as well as accompanying dance classes, musicians can play a vital role in the development of choreography and performance.
For dancers, this course presents an invaluable opportunity to work with musicians and discover how this can liberate and extend their work as teachers and artists Opportunities for dancers and musicians to work together are becoming rarer, if those opportunities arise would you have the tools to get the best out of them?
Music for Dance for Music aims to offer an informal, fun and enjoyable environment for musicians and dancers to work together to create original work and give each other confidence to share their skills. The weekend will consist of company class, breakout workshops, jamming sessions and structured improvisation.
All musicians are welcome, whether you are an instrumentalist, a percussionist or a vocalist and dancers from any discipline from street to ballroom would benefit from this unique training opportunity.
