Integrated Project: (Ages 8 - 14 years) April 2003 - March 2004

A three week summer residency project taking place in the Staffordshire Moorlands (primarily Leek). This will be an integrated project involving Special School/s, mainstream school/s and staff. Anticipated participant numbers - 10 special school children and 30 mainstream school children. A final performance will take place at the Victoria Hall.

Project Two: (Ages 14 - 18) April 2004 - March 2005

Five days of introductory one-off workshops around Leek and Staffordshire Moorlands, plus an Open Day with Glyndebourne at the Regent Theatre. The Open Day would be a free event when young people could discover the world of touring, professional opera, see the performers warm up class, etc.

Glyndebourne Education will work closely with Stoke on Trent Theatres to devise the workshop schedule. Target participants are in the main young people, with an element of support/participation/training from youth workers and teachers. The project will be structured as five days of taster workshops i.e. 10 workshops for maximum of 20 participants, ending with an Open Day (approx. 200 anticipated attendance).
