Make Some Noise uses music as a hook to engage disadvantaged children and young people and act as a catalyst for positive, lasting change.
Besides educational benefits, music gives children the many life lessons that can contribute to the professional and personal achievements in adult life.
Marginalised children and young people are given opportunities to experience achievement. In doing so they build social capital and become better able to contribute to the local community.
Our community events give children and young people the chance to showcase their work and challenge negative stereotypes. In doing so, they become positive role models for others.
Children & young people gain transferable skills through project management, goal setting and delivering a finished product. Our sessions builds confidence, raises self-esteem and impacts on aspirations
Marie Warner, once a Make Some Noise beneficiary through early years project in 2008 was inspired to become further involved with Make Some Noise and in 2013 with the help of a `Breakthrough’ commission, Marie created her own lunch time music project
Re:Source Me is a new company aiming to inspire and educate young people through the creative arts. Having worked previously with Make Some Noise, they were able to develop the Beat/Repeat music technology project which worked with a group of young residents from North Staffordshire YMCA.
Z is a 14 year old boy from a white British background. He attends a Special School. He has attended this school since the age of 6. Z was quiet and lacked confidence at the beginning of the programme with poor literacy skills
