Having a team of trusted volunteers is invaluable to any organisation or charity.  For Make Some Noise, this is no exception. With a wide range of volunteering opportunities available, Make Some Noise is always keen to hear from anyone with an interest in music, seeking to volunteer.

To celebrate Volunteers’ Week which runs 1 – 7 June 2017, hundreds of events will be taking place across the country. The annual campaign, which was established in 1984, recognises the contribution volunteers make to our communities every day. We would like take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers for their hard work and commitment for all that they do.  Here, we share with you the story of one such dedicated volunteer.

19 year old Jade Bossons from Stoke-on-Trent volunteers in her spare time for Make Some Noise on the `Positive Sounds’ project which engages with looked after children. As a direct result of her hard work and dedication volunteering, Jade is shortly to begin working as an Assistant Music Leader with Make Some Noise.

Jade said: “I’d always been interested in volunteering with Make Some Noise after hearing about the work they do, and I was very lucky to be given an opportunity to complete my university placement with them for 6 weeks. Whilst there, I enjoyed working with the children and group leaders so much that I decided to stay on and attend the sessions even after my placement had finished.  This was despite the session being held over an hour away from my house. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the group and since volunteering I have been offered the chance to become an Assistant Music Leader with Make Some Noise, which I was delighted by! I have developed my confidence and I leave the group feeling really positive, with a real “feel good” feeling.  Being able to help the children and be there for them is very special.”
